Are bee allergies in dogs hereditary?

My dog was stung by a bee this weekend and immediately went in to severe anaphylactic shock. We rushed her to the vet but she still ped away. We know several people who have puppies from the same litter and we were wondering if they should be going to their vets to ask for epipens to have on hand in case of a reaction in their dog. The reaction our dog had came on so fast that the only thing that would have saved her was an immediate injection of epinephrine and we don't want any of the other dog owners to have to go through the same thing.
