Is it possible to use premade pasty/pie crust for Sicilian Cucidati a/k/a Italian Fig Cookies?

I love these cookies, but I'm not a baker. I'd like to buy premade pasty/phillo dough/pie crust and make the fig filling only. Is this possible? I understand it won't be like my Grandma's, but Grandma was in the kitchen 24/7...that was her life. Thanks!
