Are Panties No Longer Fashionable?

It seem as though women no longer believe that undergarments are fashionable. I work part time in an upscale clothing store, the women that come in seem to not have panties on, I don't get it. Come on ladies we are women we do leak bodily fluids. I don't care how many baths, showers you take, you are going to leak and you do have a slight odor. Then these women come in and try on clothing with out having underwear on. Yuck! Can some one please explain why would you want to go commando, and if you do choose not have panties on, why?
