BIOS revision question?

So I'm building a computer and the mobo I bought is an ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard... this doesn't support AMD X6 processors at the current BIOS. Can anyone tell me how I update the BIOS to make them compatible, and will the system even boot before I do that?
