How do one derive the "speed" of gravitational wave from general relativity?

I don't pretend to know much about this stuff but I've done some reading on the subject and the gist that I've gotten is that the lightspeed barrier is really a limit on how quickly any information can be transferred. Because of this the prorogation of gravitational waves "capable of transmitting energy, momentum, and information"(Gravitational Waves, J. Webber) would be limited in the same ways as light.
