Should she be my best friend?

Now I have been friends with Raenna for 7 years in and out of high school. We are the same age and since we've know each other I have been the first one to get a job first, car,baby,ingaged and so on. However when I got my first job I got her hired, when I got my first car she was in it as much as I was, and when I had my child she became god mom. Here is the problem she is not been the best friend. She recently got a new man and told him nothing but bad things about me stuff that wasn't true or should be kept between best friends before I met him. Well he finally meets me and instantly changes his view of my character she built by seeing me for me. Then when I seen him hes always complimenting me from my perfume to my shoes to saying I'm beautiful which I make no comments to he does it in front of her and my husband. Anyways I thought atlease hes cool with us being friends then he starts acting strange around me again I was wondering why and she finally tells me it was because of things she was telling him! Why guys? Why does she want him to hate me, then she stands me up for my birthday OMG. Now I have never been the promiscuous type and well she is very much so but does she tell him these things to cover up her trashy past and to keep the heat off her self? When we have fights she says "you think your so better than everyone else", where ever thats coming from! Other friends told me years ago to cut her off HELP PLEASE.
